The 13th Month
Motion Title Sequence | Spring 2024
The creation of a title sequence for my “own” hypothetical film.
Task: Design a title sequence that is visually captivating, conveys a specific emotional and psychological mood, and provides information through typography.
Concept: The Thirteenth Month” is a captivating series set in an alternate reality where a mysterious thirteenth month disrupts the conventional flow of time. The female lead finds herself transported back in time to the 1950s. Bringing her opposing views with her, she signals a new period of female empowerment. She joins with other women to navigate a new world transformed by their influence, as they challenge traditional gender and societal norms.

A collection of my illustrations created to incorporate into the title sequence. I chose to represent the males using sketches at a smaller scale to add emphasis to the importance of the photography & female character.
Photography
A collection of photographs taken to incorporate into the title sequence. I chose to keep the photography black and white with the exception of red, which I used to symbolize power.

Design Strategy
My goal was to create out of the ordinary visuals that have a high feature on feminine power while maintaining a vintage aesthetic. I did this using a combination of photography and hand drawn elements to create a collaged, mixed media style.
